Called to the Singapore Bar in 2026, Joanne trained at a top-tier boutique disputes firm, where she gained experience in international litigation, international arbitration and insolvency matters, before joining Eden Law. She has a particular interest in cross-border divorces and international family disputes.

Joanne has a particular interest in oral advocacy. She represented NUS in the Oxford IP Moot Competition in 2024 and continues give back as a coach for the competition. 

Committed to pro bono work, Joanne volunteered with a migrant worker NGO as a case management worker in 2021, assisting in the facilitation of legal aid for salary, injury, and wrongful dismissal claims. She later served as a director of the NUS Migrant Worker Pro Bono Project from 2021 to 2022.

Notable Cases

• Assisted with a deputyship application for a HNW individual defrauded of substantial family assets.

• Assisted with a complex fraud and asset recovery matter, acting for a financial institution in to uncover a multi-million-dollar sham share transaction.

• Assisted with advising the joint and several liquidators of a major Singaporean oil trading firm in one of the largest and most complex liquidations in Singapore.

• Assisted in advising the purchaser of a Southeast Asian telecommunications operator in an arbitration against the vendor, involving undisclosed liabilities and regulatory breaches under local laws. The dispute was valued at over USD250 million.
